"MORE INFORMATION." Before asking for more information, please understand that these pages dedicated to Bourne represent everything I currently know about him, his engravings, and the huge Doré prints. I don't have any hidden knowledge.

BIBLE ENGRAVINGS. Bourne created several engravings for one or more editions of illustrated Bibles. I have never seen any in person, but strongly suspect most of his Biblical prints are already listed among the engravings on this site. PLEASE report the titles of his engravings if you ever spot his engravings in any illustrated Bible.

.

People constantly write, asking for "more information." Most of the time, people really want to know,

"How much are these prints worth?"

I record all sales of Bourne prints that I can find. Then, every couple months, I update the online database behind this site. The prices you will see below every image in the Gallery of Bourne Images represent every price I have ever encountered. The prices that appear on this website are NOT estimates. They represent specific recorded prices, primarily from eBay. The database re-calculates prices every time you come to this website.

"But I want more information about the large Doré prints."

I understand.

Most likely, you want to know what those beautiful prints are worth. I have a special page Valuing and Insuring Large Doré Engravings. I do not have any additional price information beyond that. Not even a single price.

Some of my readers have told me they intended to research prices of the Doré prints with art consultants. If they did, none ever shared their discoveries with me. Consequently, I have none to share with you.

"But you must know more."

I do not make a cent off this website, so it is in my best interest to answer every possible question here. You see, answering personal inquiries is exceedingly time-consuming. From the standpoint of time alone, I cannot afford to hide anything.

"You MUST know more because I know that ..."

Some of my visitors know much more about Bourne than me, especially concerning his involvment in engraving postage stamps. Several years ago, a correspondant promised to share a substantial amount of knowledge about Bourne's engravings for Waterlow & Sons. That person disappeared and never returned any of my inquiries.

The point is, stamp collectors almost certainly know more about Bourne than me, but they have not shared any of their research.

So, yes, there is much more to be discovered about Bourne and his works. If any new knowledge comes to me, I will share it here.

Until then, please understand that I am not knowingly hiding anything. I do not have any more information to share.
